Artist Bio

Danijah Taylor aka Danijah Danijah is a young Jamaican multi-award-winning writer, author,
educator, visual artist and content creator. In 2017 he created the social enterprise Studio Dan, fresh from winning his 1st JCDC creative writing award in 2016 for the short story "Orlando Jack". Studio Dan is a production studio that specializes in the self-publishing and printing of authentic Jamaican and Afrocentric (8) reading books, (1) textbooks, and the hosting of live edutainment events. All focused on improving literacy, creativity, and critical thinking in our youth “penpowerment”. "Penpowerment ” has impacted hundreds of at-risk children in Ghana, the USA and Jamaica. Through programmes like "Read Write Now" a creative writing curriculum for early childhood institutions, that fosters a love for reading and writing from an early age with the use of creative teaching methods (puppets, animated videos and worksheets.). "Writing 4 Life a free creative writing workshop which teaches the power of the pen in a 4-week writing process. In 2021 Danijah was awarded by Prime Minster, The Most Hon. Andrew Holness for the creation of the digital art “Outta Many One”, which was featured on the Office of the Prime Minster’s Calendar 2021.
