My name is Conroy Green and I am a self-taught fine artist. I have been painting for the past
4 years with my last two years committed to doing so full time. Although having no formal
training, my love and passion has brought me this far. I continue to hone my skills using the
resources at hand and welcome other opportunities to develop. My paintings include
diverse themes of: landscape, portraits, abstract, surrealism, eroticism and a few others. I
mostly paint with oil and acrylic with oil being my favourite. My inspiration to be an Artist
comes from the love of my heritage and people, my identity. God's will, I seek to preserve
Jamaica's invaluable cultural legacy through Visual Arts while reminding others to use their
talents and expertise to create as opposed to being mere consumers; preserving our rich
history and improving quality of living. In sharing my Art with the world, this is my attempt
to actualize my dreams, as one of my favourite motivational speakers shared, "the graveyard
is the richest place on earth, for there lies hopes and dreams... that were never fulfilled". I
create Art because it is more than a concept in my mind, it is my current way of life.
