Artist Bio

Britney Russell (Bexpressive Soul) is a young internationally acclaimed
poetess and youth radio host. She is the radio host of "Poetics with Britney" a zoom segment of "World Poetry Cafe" on Vancouver Co-op Radio 100.5FM. She was recently nominated for "Best International Spokenword Artist of the Year (2022)" at the National Spokenword Awards in the USA.

A fruit of St Catherine, Jamaica, poetry has perpetually been one with
Britney Russell since childhood. She uses her pen to repaint the stereotypes of the black community and empower people of colour to embrace their true identity as the descendants of African Royalty.

Her remarkable poetry has been featured on multiple radio stations, magazines, and poetry shows in Jamaica, the USA, Canada, Africa, and the United Kingdom. She was a performer on the prestigious "Walking with Whitman" open mic in December 2020. Her captivating poetry was featured in the Inner Child Press Anthology: "Poetry- The Best of 2020." She published her first book in late 2021 entitled: "My Pen Paints." Her book is currently in over 17 bookstores across the world, including: Barnes and Noble. She newly released her first children's book entitled: "Rhyme and Learn with Serry".
